Dedicated Aide/Paraprofessional

The role of the paraprofessional is to provide instructional assistance to pre-elementary, elementary and secondary teachers and students in general or special education classrooms or learning environment. Paraprofessionals augment academic programs and lend scaffolds to learning cultures through the use of strategic implementations that support optimum learning outcomes for students and teachers.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with daily instruction of a student as assigned by Teaching Supervisors.
  • Assist Teaching Supervisors with implementing motivational techniques that encourage independent student academic performance, using the TAMAH LLC Department of Education model of motivation management system, MSGW.
  • Assist Teaching Supervisor with classroom management systems and models that enhance an optimum classroom learning culture, by using management/behavior techniques described by Teaching Supervisors, Special Education Coordinators and TAMAH LLC Department of Education-approved systems and models.
  • Monitors daily student progress through the use of record-keeping/journaling modules and transferring goal oriented anecdotal records to TAMAH LLC Department of Education via approved systems of transmissions.
  • Performs remedial instructional daily tasks under the auspices of a Teaching Supervisor, and providing feedback via an assigned system of professional communication/evaluation instrument.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy and educational environment by counseling with Teaching Supervisor on classroom standards of instruction and by following and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Intercepts deterioration in achievement by monitoring an individual student with academic difficulties, drawing on the school system’s resources for additional academic assistance, and TAMAH LLC Department of Education’s library of supplemental resource materials.
  • Assists Supervising Teacher with the development and implementation of individualized learning programs/plans
  • Provide dedicated, uninterrupted one-on-one support for the assigned student, such that the student is never left unattended.
  • Attends staff meetings, staff development workshops/conferences for an assigned school as well as any staff development activities with TAMAH LLC
  • Works in a team relationship with Teaching Supervisor and follows all explicit instructional directives in a timely and professional manner.
  • Adheres to all Standards of Professional Conduct; possess all Core Competencies; and demonstrates all Supporting Competencies.

  • Mobility sufficient to move about, stand, and/or sit for extended periods, and access all locations in the work environment.
  • Manual skill to appropriately control and manipulate objects, tools, materials, and equipment used on the job.
  • Flexibility and strength to reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 48-60 credit hours from a regionally-accredited college/university or successful completion of Praxis Paraprofessional Examination
  • Successful completion of fingerprint/background check
  • Successful completion of TAMAH LLC’s comprehensive pre-employment screening process.
